The Surat Basin Conference is a dynamic regional conference that promotes sustainable regional and business growth
in the Surat Basin.  Each year the conference delivers an outstanding program focusing on the key topical issues of
the region as well as provide an interactive platform for regional engagement.

This year’s host was Roma Queensland, a perfect choice given their long associations with both the energy and
agricultural industries and a significant locality within the Surat Basin.  Roma is also currently benefiting from an impressive
regional growth, reported to be eclipsing the Chinese economy over the last four years.

Participating businesses were escpecially pleased to secure their access to this unparralleled platform of quality industry
intelligence as well as the opportunity to network with key regional stakeholders.  Businesses utilising the exhibition
space further strengthened their presence within the region and used the social occasions to build and progress their
business alliances.

Chairman of the Surat Basin CSG Engagement Committee, John Cotter, presented the Surat Basin Community
Engagement Award to Santos GLNG, recognising their leadership commitment and a 'best practice' approach to
improving the social wellbeing of the regional communities in which they operate in.

Dalby based Arrow Energy were also recognised as a very close runner-up.  The diversity and calibre of entrants to the
inaugural Surat Basin Community Engagement Award reflects the depth of insight and expertise in this sector.

The award was sponsored by the Surat Basin Corporation on behalf of their members including the Queensland
